Throughout the history of PC gaming, only a handful of games provide gamers those rare moments of being transported to different world that elicit fear, anticipation, and awe at the same time. In 2004, Doom 3
accomplished that feat. The finest moment of this amazing
game answered the internal question: What does Hell look like? The Hell level in doom 3 is one of the most unforgettable experience in the FPS genre and of gaming as whole. Owning to the capabilities of the doom 3 engine, our soul due to sin is beautifully and vividly rendered in this map. Complete with screaming,black souls and fierce monsters, You can almost smell the foul mist and smell searing heat of infernal flames as you go through open, flaming pits in your quest to get an artifact called the Soul Cube. And when you meet the guardian and hear it scream for the first time, you begin to wish there was a priest nearby to spare your soul from damnation. The descent to the inner circle of Hell was never convincing and never this breathtaking. Doom 3 with it's hell level is unparalleled by any sci-fi shooters that come out. Hope they make a Heaven Map.
