Description:

This is by far my favorite depliction of Hell in a video game to date. Other then the stunning visuals the sounds and overall feel to it really enhance the moment.

The thing that really bowled me over was seeing structures deconstruct piece-by-piece and fly away in front of me. It gives the feeling that the level is alive and makes you like if you step in the wrong place, the floor may not be there much longer.

This level is one of the more challenging levels to fight through as you'll be confronted with multiple Hellknights and Mancubus's in small areas. They also impose a small fast moving group of creatures like Cherubs in the same room as a Mancubus so you have to deal with the annoying small ones while the larger demons pound away at you.

You may take your first stab at accurate jumping as you have to navigate the bridge with the very annoying Lost Soul spawns. Even a good player could have a problem here because if you don't see those Lost Souls, they will push you off the rock you're standing on.

Just keep in mind that you don't always have to kill every enemy in the area to advance, and you'll need a lot of ammo for the boss at the end of the level. Don't forget to grab the BFG before you go into the green portal at the end of the level. Oh yes... there is a BFG.

The boss fight is a difficult one. The rather large Guardian packs quite a punch and is only vulnerable to attack once you've killed all his little hovering buddies. You see, he's blind, and his hovering buddies will shine their spotlights around until they find you, and when they do, the big boy comes a running.

What ya wanna do is take out the Seekers as quick as possible so he can go into 'seeker creation mode' and give off that pleasent blue glow from his back. THEN YOU STRIKE! So killing the seekers quickly is your main concern, well other then running from him of course.

While you can use the BFG to kill the Seekers I'm a big fan of ammo conservation and I also like using my rockets to get the hard jobs done. Rockets do work wonders on seekers, and if they're close rockets will work wonders are two or three seekers at once.

If you have the Rocket Ammo I strongly suggest going all rockets, and if not use a BFG or two and Plasma to damage the Guardian.

Once the big boy is dead you'll have a rivetting conversation with that wacky and wild Soul Cube and defeating the demons.
