Primary Excavation is a quick level with some nice visuals. The only fighting you need to concern yourself about is the fight at the end with the big, bad Cyberdemon.
Fighting the Cyberdemon is a pretty easy ordeal actually, just remember that you can constantly sprint and that rockets are your best friend. You're going to wanna sprint in around the Hell Hole over and stay on the move. If you stay in any one place too long, the Cyberdemon will surely hit you with a rocket or two.
Since you'll need to shoot the Cyberdemon with the Soul Cube 6 times to win the battle, you'll need to rack up about 25 kills (given that the Soul Cube is already powered up at the beginning of the fight) and the demons that keep climbing out of the hell hole make that rather easy and painless.
After running around the Hell Hole a few times you'll realize that the demons climb out of the same place everytime you pass. Just have a rocket waiting for them and you'll either kill em on the first shot, or knock them back into the hole, in either case that counts as a kill to the Soul Cube. When you use the Soul Cube make sure the smaller demons dont get in the way of the Cyberdemon or you may spend another 30 seconds running around killing more demons to power your Soul Cube up.
The level is a nice refreshing level to quickly run through with some great visuals and an awesome fight at the end.
Critique:
This map could actually have some competitive value. If you enclosed the Hell Hole area and threw in a ton of shotguns you could easily have a Doom2 shotgun-only level again and have a blast (quite literally).
Using it on stock, may work, but due to the rather enclosed and narrow nature of the level wouldn't be very competitive.
